Beyond English is a 6-month global community for high-level English speakers who want to stop freezing, start flowing, and express themselves authentically in real-world conversations at work or otherwise.
I'm Sukhi and I've been an English teacher turned coach for 15 years, but it's over the past 5 years, after having listened carefully to feedback, I realised something was missing from traditional English teaching when it came to B2+ English speakers.
In my experience, private English schools don't deal with a lot of aspects of the language learning process - you know, the mental blocks, the nerves, speaking with conviction and presence when it matters, the disconnection between the language and your personality, the courage it takes each and every time, the lack of self-confidence, the blank mind...
...and I have been working on how to connect the gap between traditional language learning and empowered, embodied real-world communication.

It's is a deeply reflective exploration of yourself in English, connecting your feelings to your expression, which I've found is often the missing piece to feeling free when speaking English.

Traditional learning trains you like a beginner forever - memorise, repeat, perfect. It's old-fashioned and ineffective for many of you now you're at a high level (B2+).
But nobody tells you that.
As an advanced speaker, showing up as an English learner will keep you small. While learning more linguistically is admirable and enjoyable, if you're feeling unconfident, it's not what you need.
What you may need is to truly connect your identity to your expression in English, while increasing your capacity for calm communication when the pressure is on.

Through mindfulness techniques, such as guided breathing, body scans, and grounding, you learn to quiet the nerves that can cause your mind to go blank. When you are nervous, it can block access to the language you already know. It's not a language issue.

Beyond English is a 6-month explorative journey of the self, but done so in English.
Each month has a different theme and each week there is a live session on Zoom.
Each session begins with a short grounding practice - a breathing practice, a pause, a body scan, a journal prompt, a way to slow down so you can show up fully. All guided by me (accredited & qualified, by the way).
From there, you move into rich, human conversations - exploring themes that matter, developing how you share your feelings, opinions, and stories in English without fear of “getting it wrong.” You connect all of the processes that the body, mind, and brain do in order to start expressing yourself as you truly want to.
You’ll learn practical communication tools designed for advanced speakers like you - skills that help you navigate workplace conversations, connect with global English speakers, and express yourself authentically. These skills are life-long, not just for this community.
Week by week, you’ll notice yourself relaxing, opening up, and speaking more freely, and not necessarily because your English “improved,” but because you stopped fighting yourself and gave yourself the space to BE.

Weekly breakdown of every month
Week 1 - The Materials Intro - Develop your ideas & opinions through materials sent to you before the live session, worksheets & tasks provided, discussion of them, vocabulary analysis & 1.5-hour live session
Week 2 - The Conversation Station - Communication-focused coaching group session, deep & meaningful questions based on the theme, expressive emotive communication in response to inward-looking questions, 1.5-hour live session
Week 3 - The Workshop - Learn and practise mindfulness techniques (breathing techniques, grounding, body scans, techniques for presence, mind-body connection), communication techniques (pausing, questions, listening actively, pacing, rhythm) and the application of them - 2.5-hour live session
Week 4 - Live Journalling - Give yourself the space to breathe, reflect, track progress, and answer carefully curated questions on the theme of the month in written form. A gentle and cosy way to finish off the month and a way to use and cement your English in another way - 1.5-hour session

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my level is too low?
Before anyone joins the community, I speak to you individually to make sure it is right for you. On another note, my communities are for B2, C1, and C2 speakers of English to reflect the real world of differing levels. It's supportive and everyone is in the same boat.
I'm quite nervous about joining
I understand. I hear this from most of the members of my group courses and communities before joining. Most people feel the same way and the nerves disappear quickly. If not, I'm always here to talk to as your teacher, coach, and mate.
What if I miss a live session?
Don't worry, every live session is recorded and sent to you, so having an external hard drive to store them all would be useful!
I don't know if I have the time for all of this
It seems like a lot, but as long as you join the live sessions once a week, you've done 90% of the work. The rest is optional and dependent on your schedule week to week. We cover A LOT in the live sessions, and the rest is about an hour a week (vocab, materials, reflections).
What if I want 1:1 English sessions alongside the group?
This is possible. On our first call, we can talk about supplementary 1:1 sessions and organise them depending on your needs. This would give you the most out of the 6 months for your English.
I want to improve my language as well as my communication
You'll naturally improve your fluency and language base as you'll be showing up for 6 months every week. There is language focus in week 1 of every month, and in your personalised feedback. I also keep a record of the chat on Zoom and email it to you, so you'll have lots of new expressions relevant to your life. Plus, if you have any language-related questions, I'm here as your teacher, your coach, and your mate for the duration of the course on WhatsApp or in email.
Can I join and leave when I like?
No. If you join Beyond English, the intention is to commit to the duration of the 6 months. Each month is specially curated with the aim to grow, both linguistically and in mindset, and it takes time.
I haven't tried mindfulness techniques before
The practices are gentle and slow. As the months go on, and you become more comfortable with them, the breathing practices become longer. We speak about this on the first call when we meet each other, including health status and viability.
6 months is a long time!
"It feels weird that this routine will be broken and I won't see you all weekly." That's what one member said at the end of the last 6 months. Time flies. Think about how you spent the last 6 months and how quickly it passed. The difference is you'll have a supportive, loving, caring community to join every week for that amount of time instead of not. Plus, real change takes many years sometimes, so comparatively, 6 months is short.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes, you can pay monthly or in one instalment. I also have a payment plan over 10 months for those who need it.
